Preparing Your Abstract for Submission

  • The abstract should include background information and address methods, programs, or practices. Strong submissions will demonstrate relevance to the conference theme. It also should include implications or recommendations for others who may be considering a similar approach.
  • Abstracts may highlight original research, quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice, or programmatic innovations. Formatting of the abstract should be consistent with the type of project being presented.
  • Abstracts may have been presented elsewhere or published within the past two years. If this is the case, please update the material and make it unique to this event.

  • Abstracts may be submitted for a poster, lightning talk, or podium presentation. If you would be interested in any type of presentation, you can select all options in the submission form.
  • Projects in progress may be considered for a poster presentation. Please identify the project as completed work or ongoing work.
  • Lightning talks will be in the form of a 3-5-minute talk focused on a clear project, impact, or preliminary results with a maximum of 4 slides shared during a designated time.
  • Podium presentations will be in the form of 15-minute presentation with a scheduled time for live questions and answers. Presenters will be provided with a laptop computer and LCD projector.
  • Poster presentations will be table-top presentations so we recommend tri-fold boards, posters that can be placed on easels, or small tabletop banners.

  • Submitters are allowed a maximum of two (2) abstract submissions.
  • Presenters are asked to identify any potential conflict of interest related to the content to be offered (e.g., commercial interest, affiliation with a vendor, and/or receipt of royalties) and affirm that their abstract presentations will not be used to sell a particular product or service. 糖心少女vlog exerts the right to rescind the acceptance of an abstract due to any conflict of interest discovered after the fact.
  • The primary author will be the point of contact for all communication with 糖心少女vlog.
  • Primary authors on all accepted abstracts must register for the conference and present the abstracts.
  • Presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including the conference registration fee, travel accommodations, and other expenses.

Please click here for some additional speaker resources from 糖心少女vlog for podium or poster presentations.

  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically through 糖心少女vlog’s submission website by creating an account to upload an abstract.
  • Only a complete submission is eligible for review; ensure that a completed abstract is evident in your submission.
  • A confirmation email will automatically be sent to the email provided for the primary author once the abstract has been fully submitted.
  • Submissions must include:
    1. Title
    2. 300-word description
    3. 1-2 learner outcomes (e.g., “Identify strategies for…”)
    4. Contact information for primary author
  • Submitters may access the site as often as they like to modify their submission until the final submission deadline, Friday, May 1 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Submitters have control over when the abstract is finally submitted.

  • All abstracts are due on or before 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, May 1.
  • Once the abstract is finally submitted (by hitting “submit & review changes” then “finalize” on the website), the submitter will receive an email message confirming receipt of the abstract. If an email confirmation is not received, the abstract was not entered into the system, and the submitter will need to go back and submit fully.

  • Each abstract is peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers.
  • Reviews are blind; hence, reviewers do not see names of submitters or school affiliations.
  • To increase the probability of an abstract being selected for presentation, please read the scoring rubric the reviewers follow.

Abstract Rubric

  • Authors will be notified about the status of their submission(s) via email no later than Friday, May 22. This will provide sufficient time to meet the conference registration deadline and the hotel cutoff date.
  • The primary presenting author is required to either accept or deny the presentation invitation form.
  • The author’s failure to return the “intent to present” information by Friday, June 5 will disqualify the abstract from presentation.
